Data Privacy & Security
Privacy Policy
Effective 2 September 2026. Data controller: Business Launchers Inc, 501 Silverside Road, Suite 105, Wilmington, DE 19809, United States.
1. Zero-Liability Identity Data Architecture
KBS is built on a privacy-first verification architecture. We never store government identity documents, passports, driver's licenses, or biometric data on KBS servers. Identity verification is processed securely by Stripe Identity, which passes cryptographic verification tokens to KBS without transmitting raw identity document images.
2. Information We Collect
We collect only operational data necessary to administer directory listings and verify domain control: business legal name, founder contact email, verified domain names, published policy URLs, and billing contact details.
3. Public Verification Records & Directory
Public member profiles and verification records display only verified business names, founder names, authorized domains, membership tenure, and verification layer statuses. Personal email addresses, phone numbers, and private dispute histories are never exposed on public API endpoints or directory pages.
4. Analytics, Cookies & Tracking Preferences
KBS uses minimal session cookies for member authentication and Google Tag Manager (GTM) for anonymous aggregated site performance measurement. Visitors can modify their tracking consent at any time via the cookie preferences control in the footer.
5. How long we keep it
Member records are kept for as long as the membership is active. After a membership ends we keep the minimum needed to answer a future question about whether a seal was valid on a given date, and to meet accounting obligations, and we delete the rest. Applications that are declined are kept for 12 months so we can answer an appeal, then deleted. Evidence files you upload during verification are deleted once the review is complete.
6. Who we share it with
We use a small number of processors to run the service: Stripe (identity verification and payments), ClickFunnels (checkout), Resend (transactional email), and Cloudflare (hosting, database and storage). We do not sell personal data, we do not share it with advertisers, and we do not sell or rent member or enquiry lists to anyone.
7. Your rights
You can ask us for a copy of the data we hold about you, correct it, or have it deleted. If you are in the UK, EU or EEA, you also have the right to object to processing, to request portability, and to complain to your national data protection authority. We respond to requests within 30 days and we do not charge for them.
To exercise any of these, email society@knowledgebusiness.com. We may ask you to confirm your identity first, using the account email on file.
8. Legal basis, transfers, and automated decisions
Where the UK or EU GDPR applies, we process member data to perform our contract with you (verification, membership administration, publishing your listing), and on the basis of our legitimate interest in operating and securing the service. Where we rely on consent, such as non-essential analytics cookies, you can withdraw it at any time from the cookie control in the footer.
We are based in the United States and our processors are too, so member data is transferred to and stored in the US. Where required, those transfers rely on the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses.
Parts of verification are automated: we check that policy pages are reachable and we re-check them on a schedule. No membership is approved, declined, suspended or revoked by automation alone. A person makes every decision that affects your standing, and you can ask for that decision to be reviewed by replying to the notice.
9. Security and breach notification
Data is held on Cloudflare infrastructure, encrypted in transit, with access limited to the two people who run KBS. Passwords are stored only as salted hashes and we never email you a password. If a breach affects your personal data in a way likely to present a risk to you, we will tell you and the relevant regulator without undue delay.
10. California residents
We do not sell or share personal information as those terms are defined by the CCPA and CPRA, and we have not done so in the preceding twelve months. California residents may request access, correction or deletion using the contact details below; we do not discriminate against anyone who exercises those rights.
11. Children
KBS is a service for businesses and is not directed to anyone under 18. We do not knowingly collect data from children.
