Terms of Service

Effective 2 September 2026. Operated by Business Launchers Inc, 501 Silverside Road, Suite 105, Wilmington, DE 19809, United States.

1. Who you are contracting with

The Knowledge Business Society ("KBS", "the Society", "we") is operated by Business Launchers Inc, a company registered in Delaware, United States, at 501 Silverside Road, Suite 105, Wilmington, DE 19809. KBS is a trading name of that company and not a separate legal entity. Your agreement is with Business Launchers Inc.

2. Verification scope and standard

KBS provides independent identity and operational status verification for knowledge businesses, course creators, and coaching organizations. Verification confirms three things: identity (via Stripe Identity), control of the domain the seal is embedded on (via a DNS challenge), and that consumer protection policies (a refund policy, terms of service, and a working customer support channel) are published and reachable. Verification is re-checked on an ongoing schedule, not issued once and forgotten.

3. Non-liability and disclaimer of outcomes

KBS DOES NOT GUARANTEE, WARRANT, OR ATTEST TO PRODUCT QUALITY, FINANCIAL OUTCOMES, EARNINGS, OR LEGAL COMPLIANCE OF ANY MEMBER'S COURSES OR SERVICES. KBS assumes zero liability for member transactions, commercial offerings, or disputes between members and their customers.

4. Seal licence and domain locking

Verified members receive a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to embed the KBS Trust Seal strictly on authorized, verified domains. Embedding the seal on unauthorized domains, spoofing headers, or displaying altered seals is strictly prohibited and results in immediate revocation.

5. Zero ID document storage

To ensure applicant data protection and eliminate liability, KBS does not process, store, or retain sensitive identity documents (passports, driver's licenses, national ID cards) on KBS infrastructure. All identity verification is performed directly by Stripe Identity.

6. Fees, auto-renewal, cancellation and refunds

In short. Membership costs $1,497 today. If we decline your application you get all of it back, automatically, the same day. If you change your mind for any reason within 30 days, you get all of it back. Membership then renews at $997 a year until you cancel, and you can cancel at any time from your dashboard.

6.1 What you are charged. Joining is a single charge of $1,497: a one-time $500 verification fee covering your identity check, domain verification and policy review, plus $997 for your first year of membership.

6.2 Auto-renewal. Membership renews automatically at $997 per year on the anniversary of your join date, charged to the payment method on file, until you cancel. The renewal price does not increase for as long as your membership stays continuous. We send an email reminder before every renewal charge. You may cancel at any time, with no fee and no phone call, from your member dashboard or by emailing us; cancelling stops the next renewal and your membership runs to the end of the year already paid for.

6.3 If we decline your application. You receive a full refund of the entire $1,497, issued the same day the decision is made. Not a credit, not a partial refund. You also receive a findings letter setting out what did not meet the standard and what would change the outcome. We do this because charging for a review and keeping the fee when we say no is the conflict of interest this organisation exists to oppose.

6.4 Thirty days, any reason. For 30 days from your join date you may cancel for any reason or none and receive a full refund of $1,497. No retention call, no justification required, no downgrade offered instead. The window runs from your join date rather than your approval date, so waiting on your review never shortens it. We aim to process refunds within 5 business days; your bank may take longer to show it.

6.5 After 30 days. The current membership year is not refundable after day 30. When a membership ends, the directory listing is removed and the seal deactivates automatically, because the seal is a live embed reflecting current status rather than a static image.

6.6 The lead-generation add-on. The optional contact-form add-on is $497 per year, billed and cancelled separately, with the same 30-day full-refund window. The form only becomes usable once verification is complete, so its twelve months are counted from the day the form goes live, not the day you paid.

6.7 Suspension or revocation for breach. If we suspend or revoke a membership for a breach of the Code of Conduct, the remainder of that year is not refunded. Notice and a cure period apply first, as set out in section 7.

6.8 How to cancel or request a refund. From your member dashboard, or by emailing society@knowledgebusiness.com, or through our support form. You get an automatic confirmation on arrival and a reply within one business day.

7. Notice, cure, and revocation

A membership that lapses through non-renewal or payment failure enters a 30-day cure window before seal authorisation is withdrawn. Where we believe a member has breached the Code of Conduct, we give written notice describing the issue and a defined period to put it right before suspending or revoking. We do not revoke without notice. Revocation for breach does not refund the remainder of the membership year.

A member may appeal a decision by replying to the decision notice. Appeals are reviewed by a person who was not the original reviewer wherever that is possible.

8. What a KBS seal does not mean

A KBS seal is not an endorsement, a guarantee of results, a licence, or an accreditation recognised by any government or professional body. It confirms only the three checks described in section 2, as of the date shown on the member's public verification record. Buyers should treat it as one input among several, not as a substitute for their own judgement.

9. Changes to these terms

We publish the effective date at the top of this page. Where a change materially affects existing members, we notify members by email before it takes effect. Continuing your membership after that date constitutes acceptance.

10. What we publish about you, and how to correct it

Membership creates a public record: your directory listing, your verification record, and the status your seal reports. We publish only factual statements about what was checked and when, and about your current membership status. We do not publish opinions about your business, your competence, or your customers' experiences.

If you believe anything we have published about you is inaccurate, email society@knowledgebusiness.com and we will investigate. Where we find an error we correct it and, where it materially misrepresented you, we say so on the record. Where a membership ends, we publish that it has ended and nothing more: we do not publish the reason for a suspension or revocation.

11. Your responsibilities as a member

You confirm that the information you give us is accurate and current, that you are authorised to act for the business you register, and that you are at least 18. We rely on what you tell us; verification confirms identity, domain control and published policies, not the truth of every claim you make elsewhere. If your circumstances change so that your listing becomes inaccurate, tell us.

12. Warranties, liability and indemnity

The service is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis. To the fullest extent permitted by law we disclaim all implied warranties, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that verification will produce clients, traffic, citations by any AI system, or any commercial result.

Our total liability to you for any claim arising out of or relating to these Terms is limited to the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim arose. Neither party is liable for indirect, incidental, special or consequential losses, or for lost profits or lost data.

You agree to indemnify us against claims brought by your own customers or third parties arising from your business, your offers, or your use of the seal outside the terms of the licence in section 4.

13. General

If any provision of these Terms is held unenforceable, the rest remains in force. These Terms, together with the Code of Conduct and the Privacy Policy, are the entire agreement between us. We may assign this agreement to a successor in a merger or sale of the business; you may not assign it without our written consent. Neither party is liable for failure to perform caused by events outside its reasonable control.

14. Governing law and contact

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Delaware, United States, without regard to conflict of law principles. Questions, disputes and notices: society@knowledgebusiness.com, or Business Launchers Inc, 501 Silverside Road, Suite 105, Wilmington, DE 19809, United States.
