An AI marketing course teaches you to use artificial intelligence to plan, create and improve marketing tasks, such as customer research, emails and content. The key selection criterion is training you can apply in your own marketing work, not just demonstrations you can watch.
For a knowledge business, test those lessons against a real coaching, consulting or digital-product offer. KnowledgeBusiness.com also covers educators such as Eben Pagan, whose AI marketing training is used as an example later in this guide.
Watching lessons does not mean you can use what they teach. Without a project to complete, time to practice or help when you get stuck, a course may leave you with little you can use in your marketing.
Before paying, pick one task, such as improving a landing-page headline for your consulting offer. Check whether the course includes practice and feedback on work like that.
Use these four checks to evaluate the practice, resources, methods and purchase terms.

Ask to see an example assignment. Will you create marketing material for your own audience, and can a trainer review it? Confirm who gives feedback, how it is delivered and how long support lasts.
Find out which editable prompts, templates, checklists or recordings are included. Ask what you can download and how long you can access it after the course.
Look for principles you can reuse across tools: define the audience and goal, provide accurate source details, refine the prompt and review the result. Prompt engineering means creating and improving the instructions you give an AI model.
A practical lesson should also teach you to check claims and protect customer information before publishing AI-assisted content. NIST identifies inaccurate output and data privacy as generative AI risks.
Read the complete refund or guarantee policy before checkout. Check the deadline, eligibility, any required steps and whether a subscription or payment plan continues after the training.
AI washing is a misleading or exaggerated claim about what AI can do or how a business uses it. If a course promises automatic marketing or a specific business result, ask for proof, a sample of the process and a clear explanation of what the learner must still do.
In March 2024, the SEC announced settled charges against two investment advisers over false or misleading claims about their AI use. In September 2024, the FTC announced Operation AI Comply, including actions involving allegedly deceptive AI products and business opportunities. These enforcement actions involved other businesses and do not establish that any particular AI marketing course has made misleading claims.
Contact the course provider through its published support or sales channel. Ask for the details in writing so you can compare them with the terms shown at checkout.
Course Research Checklist
Check each item only after reviewing published terms or getting an answer from the provider.
Mark the facts you have personally verified.
Your selections are not saved after you leave the page. This is a research checklist, not a course rating.
Consider A.I. Marketing Academy as a limited example. Its instructor and general subject are identified, but those two facts alone do not establish what students receive.
| Detail to verify | Verification status |
|---|---|
| Instructor | Eben Pagan, named as instructor |
| Broad subject | Training in using AI for marketing |
| Full syllabus, format, duration and support | Not verified from a current official offer |
| Resources, access, price and payment terms | Not verified from a current official offer |
| Refund or guarantee | Not verified from a current official offer |
Until the provider publishes current official offer terms, do not assume a particular curriculum, level of support, price or guarantee.
Yes. Start with a real task: describe your audience and offer, ask an AI tool to draft a short customer email, then check the facts, tone, and sensitive information before using it. Save useful instructions.
For additional learning, Eben Pagan offers two free books: The A.I. Marketing Script, which focuses on creating marketing with AI, and A.I. Opportunities, which explores broader business applications of AI.

If you later need structured training or personal feedback, use the checklist above to evaluate your options before paying.
